What are the best primary and secondary profession combinations?

I know about Warrior/Monk, but what else? I also heard about a Ranger/Warrior, but is that any good?

Thanks for reading.

Ele/Mo is very nice. It allows you to do huge amounts if damge whilst being able to heal if the need arises.

Alternatively, the ele/me. He does more damage than the ele/mo, but won't stay alive as long.

Think of a combo and it can become one. Ele/Me, Warrior/mo, warrior/necro, Ele/Mo, Ele/Necro, R/W, R/E, R/Mo, Mo/Necro, and Necro/Me are all combos that I have heard people have used and done well with (ie at least have ascended with PvE). Granted some aren't as viable and some combos tend to be more effective in PvP but that depends on the player plain and simple.

There are 20 possible combinations, and each has it's pro's and con's, depending on your playing style and your personal preferences. Some are more popular, others less, which doesn't necessarily mean that they are superior or inferior. ANet balanced the game quite nicely, such that there is no class that's superior to all others. It's more like a paper - scissors - stone - game. Against each combination there is one to counter it. Pick a combo that suits your style and have fun with it.

Necro/Ranger works well for me for PvE. Groups have come to love the fact that I use my primary profession to give them an energy regen boost (healers love that) and also supplement healing through the use of +5 regen Blood Wells. For the Ranger part I just pretty much use mainly Beast Mastery so my Level 20 pet can support. The great thing I love about the pet is that in some situations where healing is really critical and the mobs we are fighting cant be targeted for Blood Wells I let my pet die and then use its corpse to generate either a Well of Blood or some other Death Magic related skill that helps out... Plus having a necro army of pets is nice as well. I think its an odd combo class to learn but I love it now. (Also Healing Spring is nice to have as well to supplement group heals.)

Default There IS NO SPOON...

There is no best.

Only idiots speak of a Mo/Ele as being a 'confused class' character. Or of a Mes/Ran as being 'an uninformed moron'.

EVERY POSSIBLE class combo in this game will work. I can't get into details but if you ask me what seems to be a 'useless' comboed class, I'm sure with a little reading, someone else or myself will come up with one that'll rip you in 2.

My personal favs are the disruptor type classes. W/N, Mes/Nec.

I made a high damage Ranger/Ele and a Zookeeper Nec/Ranger. ^_^

Please don't just try to make the 'Uber class' combo, their isn't one.
If you wanna look at percentages, I'd say the biggest, percentage of horrible chars are w/mo, while there are still many excellent w/mo's, don't just do what everyone else does, because like someone else said, all cominations work, and most of the ones that aren't used very often, I believe are the best because people don't know how to counter them, not because their the hardest to kill, or most mana, or most dmg, but because they require the most tactics, which will get you much farther than, anything else.

Thanks a lot for your support. I eventually just picked at random and chose Elementalist/Monk. As many of you said, anything will work out fine, just as this choice did.
